For the more serious student we offer the prestigious I.S.T.D. exams. The I.S.T.D Classical Ballet dates back over 100 yrs from the Paris Opera and has now evolved to promote the English classical style of today. The I.S.T.D.is an awarding body recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority also CDET and the British Dance Council.

We offer First Ballerina’s which is for babies of 18 months to 4 years where they start to learn the very basics of ballet through gentle movement along with fun and interaction with other young children. They then progress to the Pre Primary Ballet which is the next step up and this is also fun and becomes more creative and imaginative to keep young children’s attention so they can progress to the Ballet Grades. They can move through the grades at their own pace. Our ballet classes teach the children technique through a structured I.S.T.D. syllabus giving those children the opportunity to take exams if they wish to do so.

We welcome teenagers starting ballet for the first time as it gives confidence and helps them to become fitter and also helps those students who study dance at school. Many a shy teenager has come to the school, never having been in a ballet class before but fallen in love with ballet and the wonderful feeling of achievement it brings.
